When you stay at our campsite, you are ideally placed to discover the hidden treasures of the Côte Bleue and its idyllic creeks. Here's how to make the most of these natural gems.
Why visit the creeks of the Côte Bleue?
Each cove has its own character, offering a new discovery with each visit. Whether you're looking for a quiet spot for swimming, a spot to take a dip in the crystal clear waters, or just a peaceful spot to picnic while taking in the views, the Côte Bleue has something for you.
Enjoy safely
Respect nature, the creeks are sensitive environments. Make sure you leave no trace of your passage and respect the local fauna and flora. In summer, access to the creeks may be restricted due to the risk of fire. Check local forecasts and alerts before you go.
Calanque de Niolon: This is a popular spot for scuba diving. The Calanque de Niolon, with its charming little port, attracts mainly hikers leaving from the train station to reach the Calanque d'Ensuès-la-Redonne. Plan a hike of about three hours, for magnificent panoramas of the railway and the Mediterranean Sea.
Calanque de Méjean: A small jewel nestled between the rocks, Méjean evokes an almost timeless tranquility. Its clear waters and small fishermen's huts charm all those who discover it.
Please note: from April to September, access to the creeks is regulated for motor vehicles between 9 a.m. and 7 p.m. Information from the town hall of Ensuès-la-Redonne.
If you are on a boat, you can ask for permission to moor for a few hours at the port of Méjean, ideal for a picturesque lunch break. For those who love paddle boarding or sea kayaking, this beautiful cove is perfect for a refreshing walk and an unforgettable swimming session.
For those who prefer hiking, the calanque is accessible via the GR de la Côte Bleue trail or the Sentier des Douaniers, starting from the Calanque de la Redonne or Niolon. It is recommended that you wear suitable footwear and carry enough water to stay hydrated throughout your exploration.
Calanque de la Redonne: With its calm waters and picturesque port, the Redonne invites you to relax. It is the starting point for many hikes that wind along the coast.
Beware of the car as access is restricted during the summer. Motor vehicles are prohibited on weekends and public holidays, from April to September inclusive (for more details, see the official website of the town hall of Ensuès-la-Redonne).
On foot: the calanque is accessible via the Sentier des Douaniers (GR51), suitable for equipped hikers.
By sea: the port offers a few berths for visitors wishing to stop there for the day (it is recommended to contact the harbour master's office directly).
Calanque des Figuières: Less known, this cove stands out for its wild and preserved aspect. It is the perfect place for those looking to escape the hustle and bustle and reconnect with nature.
